Short Message Service, or SMS as we know it is the
title for the way we send text messages to and from
mobile phones.
Text messages can be up to 160
characters long and sent to mobile phones from a PC
via the Internet. This is the service you will be

SMS messaging is growing at increasing
rates around the world and there are over 590 million
GSM users worldwide. The GSM Association have reported
that in December 2001 alone, 30 Billion SMS messages
were sent. It is estimated that over 100 Billion SMS
messages will be sent each month for the next two
years!
Besides individuals, businesses,
from small operations to large multinational corporations,
are beginning to realise SMS is the fastest, cheapest
and easiest means to communicate with customers, staff
and business associates.
